Fertility

FERTILITY : What it means to me, is, failure to conceive after 2 years of marriage. It's time to see a physician if you're so much ready to start a family.

Going through a fertility treatment, you must adventure it as a couple. An egg cannot hatch without a sperm. So, it takes 2 to make a baby. it sometimes takes time to see a result and it may also fail. No matter how good your physician is, we must not forget our creator. If he determines that we succeed, then we will gain success and conceive a baby. But if it's another way around, go for other alternatives but you should know your limit.

What limit? Your age, your stress level, your commitment towards the treatment, your hubby's opinion, your budget, your support, your job and lastly, your physician's decision. Always remember to keep track of all your treatment cycles like keeping a small note book.

Whenever you feel down during the treatment, make sure you share it with your hubby and physician. Always talk to those who support you, not the other way around.

Most important, be optimistic!

Keep yourself healthy by taking good food and take supplements if necessary.

Good luck!
( My appreciation goes to Dr. Hatem - Gynaecologist from Egypt )

Table No. 1

My daughter is such a funny girl. She loves simple clothing and doesn't like frills. She's only four.

But what really touches me is when we go out for lunch or dinner. There are times that she wouldn't come out of the car and said, ' Look, mama, I want to eat at home '. My daughter really is so much attached to our home sweet home.

One day, we went out for dinner. She said, ' No, mama. I can't sit at any other table but number 1 '. I was puzzled but when she headed to a table that has got number 1 written on it, then I understand what she meant.

The next day, we went for dinner again and she actually went on the search for table number 1. Tomorrow, we are travelling and my hubby made a suggestion. We decided to buy a big number 1 and put it on any table we chose to eat. So there wouldn't be any problem if table number 1 is not available. We ourselves will make it available.

Yesterday, once more.................................

Curry Yellow Noodle

I ate curry noodle one day and it tastes so delicious. It was in Kemaman, Terengganu, a restaurant next to The Store Kemaman. I ordered special curry noodle.

There are big prawns, cockles, chicken shreds, boiled egg, fish cake and fish balls. Well, what more can I ask for, but to savour it with all my heart.

Tough Day

Had a very tough day today. Can you imagine how hard it is to even build a house on your own land nowadays? I thought that when you own something you've got the right to do whatever you want on it? Well, there's the law and prohibitions not yet mentioning the money involved together with the travelling cost. I wonder how the poor can go through all these.

But no matter how difficulty versus determination, you can still hold on to your dreams and try to achieve it. I'm determined!
6 June 2010 - even today things aren't settled yet. I don't think I have the spirit to build the house anymore with such a long process. Maybe next year. Uhuuuuuu...........

Food : Eating or tasting

Enjoy yourself with foods served but mind you if you have any existing illness.
Eat everything only in moderate portion.
Food : Eating or tasting
But maybe the right word is,there's nothing wrong with tasting in small portions rather than eat everything till satisfied. No matter how many restaurants you visit and how delicious the food seems to be, always bear this in mind, especially if you're diabetic and have high blood pressure.

Crab - easy recipe

Are you in a hurry or just too lazy to prepare a crab meal. Well, I have a simple recipe for you out there. No hassle just the basic ingredients.

1) Clean your crab. Cut into 2. Pull out the legs. For easy eating.
2) Fry the crab in oil till it turned red.
3) Put on a plate.
4) Use the oil to fry your big onions.
5) Put in chilli sauce, enough sugar and a bit of salt for flavour. When it changes colour, put back the crabs.
6) If it dry out, add just enough water as you like but don't turn it into soup.
7) Ready to taste.

Easy enough? Try it but never serve this to your mother in - law. Understand me? It's too simple for an important person.

Nasi Lemak

Have you ever visited Malaysia before? If you hadn't or are planning, I would like to introduce our very popular breakfast dish here, Nasi Lemak.

If you take ' nasi lemak ' , you must have it with ' sambal '.
Sambal is made from a paste consisting of onions, dried chillies, salt, sugar and anchovies plus shrimp paste. There are many variaties of ' sambal ', with either anchovy, squid, cockle or shrimp.

Other compulsary ingredients are fried ground nuts, fried dried anchovies, cucumber and a slice of boiled egg or fried egg.

When you take ' nasi lemak ', try having it with your natural spoon, your fingers. Mix the rice with the sambal thoroughly and then eat it with other ingredients. Have it with a cup of coffee.
Nasi lemak is a breakfast food. Together with teh tarik, you never need a second plate or cup of these. You are already on the go! The best nasi lemak is the creamest rice and greatly depends on the sambal.
Different cook of different races have difference preferance for taste. But its the best for them. My country is multiracial but we prefer the same food but with different ethnic taste.
So there's no one taste, okay.

Try it.

Poem

Hear now,
My heart yearns,
The heat firing,
The loosening screw.

The boredom sticks,
Right into my heart,
Like the sticky rice,
Never mentioned before.

Poem

I journey through mother earth,
A journey which never ends,
My journey begins at the end,
And the end is always the beginning.

Thunder and storms,
Hot and sandy,
I will go on,
For as I live,
I will journal my life,
In the book of life,
In the shell of time,
Through the memory chamber,
I'm bound to journey,
The life of a living soul.

Durian

Hello everyone out there. Have you tasted durian lately or you really can't accept it at all. Oh..................durian is just so majestic, it's thorns can't scare me away, because it's so,so, tasty and the smell lingers long enough for me to enjoy.

Elephant and sugarcane juice

A simple song for kids.

Elephants got 4 legs,
It's nose so long,
Tusks branches into 2,
But elephants don't eat people.

So short but interesting. Make your own rhythm and actions.

Then ask your kid.

What do elephants like to eat?

The answer : sugarcane

I like sugarcane juice either freshly pressed ( food stall ) or I just bite the branch for the juice. So sweet.

Teluk Cempedak Beach

Have you been to, Kuantan , Pahang , a city in the state of Pahang, country, Malaysia. If you're going there, make sure you drop by Teluk Cempedak Beach. It's very clean, calming and just a few minutes drive from Kuantan town. Actually near the heart of Kuantan.

There's Mc Donald, seafood restaurant - several of them to choose, children playground and many more attractions there. The long strand of beach with big rocks nearby create a rather unique feature to this beach. Come at around late evening and spend a few hours there just to hear the sounds of the wind and tide. So calming, you don't have to pay for it. Moreover since it's around the town area, there's no need to worry so much about safety.

Trust me, this is all honestly from me with no intention to gain anything. I'm just trying to share what I like to you all out there. Sometimes we should prefer nature than the ' became reality ' entertainment. It lets us enjoy the wind, air and calm.

New school session 2010

New Year is another 8 days ahead. So, how was your 2009 goals? Did you achieve all your target and dreams? As for me, life was tougher this year. Most of my plans aren't as smooth as I thought it would be.

Lots of things occured beyond control this year. Illness, cancer and world finance turbulence. I wish all these will vanish next year but we all know that it will take time to completely vanish.

Another 8 days, some of our family members will experience new life and make history. Not as glamour but, think of how our kids will feel and adopt their new school life in the beginning of their school session. Surely it will create lots of incidents and situation.

What is the best breakfast for these young kids?

My menu :

1) Chicken porridge with garlic, vegetable oil, a bit of salt, carrot in small dice
2) Soy sauce ( ketchup )
3) Milo

Kueh Teow Tom Yam

If you like hot and sour or are having your menses my suggestions for you are Kueh Teow Tom Yam. I love to have this especially when I feel that my stomach is bloated. Most women feel bloated for a few days during their menses and as for me, I also experience hunger for sour food.

To me, Kueh Teow really fulfill my longing for hot and sour. It really was a relief for me. Every strand of kueh teow that made it's way through my mouth is so much calming like an effect. So, gone was the premenstrual symptoms. All this works for me, but I don't know if it works with others. Give it a try. It wouldn't bite. ( giggle )

ox's tail soup

Guess what I have for dinner today. Very appetizing enough for you out there who are feeling cold and drowsy. Let me give you the menu. Be prepared to just feel the taste of it. Sorry that you can't taste it in your mouth. If your mouth's waterring, I'm sorry. ( Giggle..... )

1) Ox's tail soup - 3 cuts of the tails
2) Seafood Tom Yam - squid, prawns, mushroom
3) Kailan in salted fish paste
4) Fried egg - must have
5) Fresh orange juice - must be Sunkist because the taste is so like a Sunkist orange
6) Plain rice

There you have it. Make sure you take this meal with rice because I don't think it's suitable to just take it like that. Trust me.

Lady's finger

What is your favourite fried rice recipe? There are lots and kinds of fried rice created by cooks around the world be it professional chefs, even housewifes and wives. My favourite is Lady's Finger Fried Rice.

The ingredients:
1) Rice
2) Lady's Finger ( vegetable - don't you get yourself real lady's finger ))as much needed
3) Prawns
4) Tomato sauce
5) A bit of dried chilly paste
6) Cooking oil
7) Garlic
8) Egg
9) Salt to taste

Make sure you use cold rice not warm. Let your garlic get brown to get the fragrance. When you fry your fried rice make sure you fry it till it smokes a few times to guarantee a really tasty fried rice. Enjoy it.

Fried Kueh - Teow

I would love to serve photos on my blog but my camera is low on battery. Please be patient. There will be photos of food in my blog to get your appetite going. Maybe next week when I do my shopping, so watch out!

For the time being, let me just make you imagine the food.

Do you like fried kueh-teow ( flat rice noodle )? I love it so much. Especially when it's fried with prawns, bean sprouts and eggs. Just so tasty, flavoured with soy sauce and salt. Easily prepared but so delicious.

Food and the National Anthem

Radio or mini compo used to be my best friend during my school days. I think it was so humble. It sounds happy all the time and wouldn't hurt my feelings in any way. I listened to the radio every night and there are some programmes that I am really attached to.

As time goes by and in my late 30's, I only find time to listen to it while driving but that's such a short trip, only after sending my daughter to the nursery. I manage to listen a bit of the programmes but never really keep up with it. If you ask me to sing a whole song of today's favourite, I'm sorry. But choruses maybe not a problem.

The only song that I can really sing properly is my country's National Anthem - Negara Ku.

Talking about the National Anthem, I have just sang it in a choir last week. It was so patriotic and everyone stood straight up listening ang singing together. We were in a Family Day Dinner.

The food was just fine but I was so hungry I ate up everything. The menu :
1) Beef curry ( Malay wedding or special occassion style - a bit different curry paste from the Indians ),no vegetable added
2) Spicy Fried Chicken
3) Acar rampai( cucumber, carrot, onion and chilly, all sliced. Add vinegar, sugar and salt for flavour )
4) small star fruit paste ( small star fruit boiled in a tin till black. Then pounded with hot chillies and anchovies )
5) iced tea - o ( o means without milk
6) nasi minyak ( rice cooked with butter and other ingredients like raisins
7) plain rice

I don't know how to call the small star fruit in English but it's known as belimbing besi in Malaysia. However, I enjoyed the food because I didn't participate in preparing it, so eating is just so easy. I think I need to appreciate the cook whom are actually my colleagues. Thank you for the dish, everyone.

Stingray

Do you like having stingray for lunch? They usually smoke the fish and eat it with sour and hot sauce. But I like it in curry. The taste is so adhering to my mouth and I really love it.

When you cook the curry don't forget to add in some lady's finger ( vegetable ) and tomatos. Cook the curry in thick and don't forget to prepare your ketchup ( soy sauce ) sauce. Cut some hot chillies in very small partitions. Squeeze lime juice and cuts of onions. Eat it with warm rice, salted duck egg, and bamboo shoot. The bamboo shoot is fried with prawn paste, garlic, anchovies and hot chillies . Pound all these into a paste. Fry it in oil till brown, then put in the prepared bamboo shoot. Stir fry. Add just a little water and flavour it up with salt. So, so tasty and crunchy.

Stacy

I'm watching Stacy dancing and singing her popular song Cinta Pakai Buang ( Dispossable Love )in television. What a title. If you're not from Malaysia, you may not know her. She's a new talent born from a singing reality competition - Malaysia's Akademi Fantasia.

She's small, sweet and came from Sabah, Malaysia. A beautiful young girl with powerful vocal and energetic dance movements. I wonder if she will last long or just be a seasonal singer. But, of course I want to see her succeed. Actually for her to stay in the business, she must have the best songs, the best fashion, the best promotion and lastly, the will to work non-stop to improve her singing and personality.

As a somebody now she must know her clients and her priorities in the business. To Stacy, I hope she will always sustain her powerful singing and dance by taking care of her food and health. She must know when to rest her voice to maintain it another 20-30 years ahead. She must also know when to rest her mind and soul after too much exposure in the public to gain back her energy and private life.

I also want to see her photo in her very own boutique one day. God's will.

To Stacy, or anyone, why not have this for your breakfast.

1) steamed glutinous rice
2) fried egg
3) salted fish
4) coffee

Saturday

Saturday morning is just so good. It's a very calming day after the five days work. My daughter watching Ben 10 and hubby sleeps till afternoon. What about me? House chores as usual but I have decided to do it on my own time - relaxing.

Went to the market in the early morning and afterwards took breakfast at a small restaurant. I took Penang Laksa ( Rice noodles with hot fish paste soup - with chillies, cucumber cut, cuts of onions and lime juice ) with iced coffee. My hubby took roti canai and my daughter, noodle soup. Both drank iced-milo.

Everything tastes just fine and I don't have much to complain. Actually you don't have to prepare food so luxuriously with ingredients. The most important part in food preparation is the TASTE. If you cook Tom Yam but it's not hot and sour, is that Tom Yam? No, you can't name it Tom Yam but soup instead. But can you call it a soup if it's not a broth and watery? Maybe, a Tom Soup?

welcome 2010

Yesterday, I went to Kuala Lumpur for ' window shopping ' as well as sight seeing if there are new skycrappers in the big city. Sometimes there's the need just to see what's going on there and what's new. There are big billboards everywhere but most advertisements are from the big telecommunications company. So, my summary is that, communication is still the biggest sale in Kuala Lumpur.

As usual, every activity must start with a kick - off : FOOD. We went to a big superstore and landed in a familiar restaurant, to find that they are offering new recipes. I ordered,
1) chicken rice ( which looks like ' nasi hujan panas ' - multi coloured rice ) which comes in combo with fried mix vegetables ( very simple mixture - baby corn stalk, couliflower and carrot ). The chicken barbecued.
2) mango juice
3) iced - milo
4) 2 pieces of chicken wings - barbeque
5) 2 cuts of garlic bread - I didn't order but when I complained, the waiter actually went to check and then dissappear from my sight, well, as a good citizen, I actually kept that to myself afterwards

My comments :
1) The barbequed chicken is just okay. Maybe more appetizing if served warm
2) The mixed vegetable was tasteless, not enough salt and simply prepared. Doesn't match the dining area which looks quite luxurious
3) Mango juice needs a bit of sugar to reveal it's mango taste
4) Iced-milo lacks either sugar or milk

My suggestions :
This restaurant really is in need of a trustful and dedicated supervisor because I think the workers are working out of control. Not many customers after all but they failed to serve their best to suit their fine looking restaurant. I know because I use to work part time in a restaurant that runs very well thanks to the dedicated supervisor.

Finally, as usual I actually finished up everything on the table because we're paying. Not my luck today.

Dinner

Today, I felt quiet tired ( exhausted ) - to admit. Felt very down and miserabble. I don't know why, but everyone sometimes feel the same, I'm pretty sure. So, I manage to persuade my hubby to have an early dinner in a semi ' Thai ' restaurant. Well, most of the did well restaurant in my town are the semi ' Thai ' s ( plus local delicacies ).

My dinner today, but it's not suggested for the health concious individuals, mind you.

1) plain rice
2) ox tail soup
3) stir fry mix vegetable
4) seafood Tom Yam
5) fried eggs
6) crunchy squid fried in flour
7) ice coffee

The food to me was cooked in average. None really makes a happy me. Actually this was my second time eating out in this particular restaurant. The food doesn't come from the heart. Actually we can tell if the food is honestly prepared because no restaurant owner would hire someone who doesn't know what he's supposed to serve to customers. In the end of the day, it's all about honesty and, ' will ' to provide good image of the restaurant.

Unsatisfied but still I did finish up the food because we're paying. My second and the last unless I'm starved to death.

Telematch

I love telematches and what make it more fun is that, all of the participators are either siblings or close relatives. I planned a telematch a few months ago as a family day occasion together with my daughter's birthday party. The memory goes on longer than I expected and we are sure to repeat it next year.

As usual in any occasion the most important part is the food served. Let me list it down.

For breakfast :
1.Laksa Lemak ( Rice noodles with coconut milk , prawn paste, black pepper, fish puree, long beans cut into small pieces around 3mm, cucumber also cut into small pieces, big onions also cut into small pieces )

2.Lychee and strawberry pudding in covered dispossable cups

3.Orange juice and iced tea

4.Steamed glutionous rice served with fish in chilly and tomato sauce

All the food for breakfast gave us the extra energy for the telematch. Everyone were so energetic and sporty. We ended the occasion with my daughter's birthday cake together with the family day cake.

Gambang Waterpark, Pahang, Malaysia

I went to this waterpark last Saturday. A new spot for holiday goers. The entrance fee is reasonable enough and outside food is not allowed. Well, I arrived at around 10.00pm. I didn't intend to stay at the resort for the night. Just want to explore the area first.

I had a pony ride at RM 10.00 per person. Of course I'm curious to see if the pony can carry a heavy me. Indeed it can. The ride was so comfortable and windy , I enjoyed it very much.

Later I headed to Kuantan town looking for a hotel to stay for the night. I landed in Mega View Hotel which is in the heart of Kuantan town. The room was comfortable but I just couldn't wait for the breakfast included. I wonder whether I'll like it or not.

That morning, I had the breakfast. First I explore the exhibition table. I decided to have Briyani Rice with chicken curry. I was rather surprised to find that sugar was added to the curry to give it a sweet taste. Sugar taste. I wonder why? Then did I realise there are some people talking in the Terengganu dialect ( east country in Malaysia ). There was a function attended by Terengganu staffs at the hotels and of course their appetite are sweet food.

To me, I love salty than sweet food. So, there goes the briyani rice wasted. Later I head for the fruits and cakes. I have 3 glasses of orange juice for breakfast. What a breakfast.

I checked out and head for the waterpark. I enjoyed myself and ended up with painful sunburns over the face and arm. Bought myself Hazeline Snow Cream to sooth it. I took Fried Thin Rice Noodles and Chinese Fried Rice in the waterpark. Price is acceptable and even the drinks are at reasonable price too. So, if you're thinking of a budget getaway, head for this waterpark. Enough entertainment for a whole day. I love the non-salty tides and non-sandy beach.

I then leave at 5.00pm and stop by a small restaurant. I ordered the special ' nusantara ' noodle soup which is flavoured with minced beef, chopped fried ground nuts and 3 big prawns. I added white pepper and soy sauce to spice it up a bit. So tasty that I closed my eyes savouring it.

CURRY

Have you ever had curry for your meal? Curry is very spicy and hot. However, how hot and spicy it is, it's up to you. If you haven't taste it, well let me imagine it for you.

Actually, you can have many kinds of curry like chicken, meat, fish and variable vegetables. But mind you, the fish and vegetables must be suitable for curry otherwise you'll get frustrated with the taste of your curry. If you're thinking of cooking it through the recipes which are available in books and internet, make sure you go to a restaurant serving curry as their main course first so that you get the idea of how curry should taste like.

My favourite personal curry is beef curry with potatos and long brinjals cut into small pieces. I love having it with warm rice, fried salted fish, bamboo shoot with fern leaves fried with chillies and prawn paste, papaddom and orange juice. Better taken in a cold weather. Eat it with your fingers. Mix everything and put it into your mouth. Savour it with all your heart.

Later, take slices of watermellon as the final meal. There, why not try it now or maybe tomorrow with your whole family. Make sure you come for the meal empty stomached and be prepared for a stuffed stomach later. If you're not keen of having spicy and hot meal, leave the gravy alone. Have only the meat and vegetables. Tasty enough but not as tasty as the whole thing.

I'm sorry if I make your mouth watery but why not? Have curry today or you will regret. Is this expression too much?

CURRY

Have you ever eaten any curry recipe. Curry must have originated from India where this savoury recipe is a must in their meals. But Indians travel all around the world and we get to be introduced with this really spicy and hot recipe. Curry is also cooked in many ways and with many different ingredients.

Though you can cook anything in curry flavour, make sure it is not that out of the usual or you might ended with frustration. Curry is not that easy to prepare as it sounds delicious to savour. My personal favourite curry is beef curry. It's really tasty you know especially when cooked with potatos and brinjals.

Mind you they even fry fish and chicken with the curry paste. So, what are you waiting for? If it's the first time you're going to taste it, I think you had better taste one in a real Curry Restaurant so you have the idea of how it should taste. Then afterwards you can try the recipes in the internet or books.

If you are concious with your health, you can have the without coconut milk curry. Most tasty currys however should have coconut milk to make it even tasty and desirable.

Anchovy

Anchovy is very popular in my site of the world. We tend to have anchovy almost everyday of our meals either as the main course, supplementary or important ingredients in fried vegetables recipe. Anchovies are tiny, around 1 -3 cm fish, salted and dried.

During my school days while my mother went out to work, I would actually just wash a handful of anchovies and dip it in chilli sauce. I take it with white rice which I flavour up with salty soy sauce. Oh! It was so tasty and non-oily. I just love the taste of it even now. If you are in a hurry or maybe so,so, hungry, try this simple recipe of mine. It takes just a few minutes. Have it with orange juice or just sky juice.

Supplement it with few cuts of cold cucumber straight out from the fridge. There you are. No hassle, no cooking needed but you already have nearly some of the vitamins needed by your body to go ahead that day.

By this simple recipe, you wouldn't need to trouble your mother just because she's late that day and can't prepare your food. Try it. But not when you're in no hurry or hunger. Trust me.
